The Pink Shoes Bursary

Stephanie Elizabeth Lane was an amazing woman of courage and spirit. She embraced life fully and enveloped her friends and family with a love and passion for life that was all encompassing. She fought a strong and courageous battle with cancer for 10 years, and finally lost her battle on March 31st, 2006. She is remembered by many and loved by all who knew her.

Great Day at the Sugar Moon Salon

A few photos of the very successful Pink Shoes Day at Sugar Moon Salon. Paola and her team of lovelies donated their time and services to the Pink Shoes Bursary (a scholarship at Queen’s University in Steph’s honour). We raised over $1500…absolutely amazing! Steph would have loved to see all of her friends and family together chatting, eating and laughing the day away. She was in our thoughts, as always.

Pink Shoes Day @ Sugar Moon Salon (March 25th, 2007)

Sugar Moon Salon has graciously donated a day of services on March 25th, 2007 in honour of our dear friend Stephanie Lane. 100% of all payments on Pink Shoes Day will go towards the Pink Shoes Bursary that has been  established at Queen’s University.

Sugar Moon Salon was Steph’s favourite place to get buffed and beautiful and she made many friends during her visits there.

The goal is to raise $1000 for the Bursary. Services offered include facials, manicures, pedicures, sugaring…whatever you would like! Visit www.sugarmoonsalon.com for a full list of services offered and pricing.

Be sure to reserve today as spots are limited. Call (416) 693-0355 and ask for a Pink Shoes Day appointment. Sugar Moon Salon is located at 1684 Danforth Ave., just east of Coxwell in Toronto.

The Pink Shoes Bursary is a scholarship to Queen’s University that was established in memory of the wonderful and unforgettable Stephanie Elizabeth Lane. One of Steph’s greatest passions was her Alma Mater, Queen’s University. The Pink Shoes Bursary will allow another female student the opportunity to experience what Steph loved - Kingston, Queen’s, residence life and everything that the school has to offer.

Leave a comment if you’re planning on attending. Many thanks to our friends at Sugar Moon Salon for organizing this event.

Head for a Cure: Support the Gerry and Nancy Pencer Brain Tumour Centre

Join the Pink Shoes team for the Head for A Cure 5KM Walk on Sunday, October 15th, 2006. The 5KM run/walk is in support of the Gerry and Nancy Pencer Brain Tumour Centre at the Princess Margaret Hospital, a place that provided support and care during Steph’s battle with cancer, and a place she held in high esteem. She did the walk in the past, and this year, we’re hoping to create the biggest team Head For A Cure has ever seen in honour of Steph’s memory.

The walk takes place in downtown Toronto, on University Ave. Steve is the Team Captain for Pink Shoes and Lara Skripitsky is the Head of Logistics. All details regarding the walk can be found here: www.headforacure.ca

You are welcome to join with family and friends as part of the team so that our fundraising will all be tallied together. You can raise donations either online, or offline, but all can be tracked in your personal tally and totaled in the team tally if you register online.

You don’t have to raise funds to walk, but you will need to pay a registration fee. The fee is $30 to join the team. After September 10th, 2006 the fee will be $35. If you’re unable to raise funds, please join us anyway in a show of support for the centre. We’re going to have pink hats for the whole team.

If you are unable to join and wish to sponsor the team, visit Steve’s personal page.

We look forward to seeing everyone again, remembering Stephanie together and raising some well-needed money for an organization that was of incredible support to her during her lifetime.

Please forward to anyone you think may be interested.
